What does a Civil Funeral Celebrant do?

We will meet to discuss the kind of funeral ceremony that you would like, and as you recall the person’s life we will be able to include music and readings which truly reflect them and help to tell their story. Once I have prepared a draft tribute, I will send a copy  to you which together we can correct and amend.

Iwill liaise with the funeral directors (where appropriate) and staff at the crematorium or burial ground in the days before the funeral. On the day, I will conduct the ceremony and afterwards send a presentation copy of the entire ceremony. So many families have told me how much they appreciate being able to read through the ceremony and words several weeks after the funeral, because on the actual day their emotion and grief meant they were unable to fully absorb what had been said.

Reading / Poem of the week

Where I Have Gone

Where I have gone I am not so small

My soul is as wide as the world is tall.

On butterflies wings, on wings of my own

To you I am gone, but I’m never alone, I am home
